Our first Digital CMC Basecamp, held in Basel, Switzerland, focused on digitalizing tech transfer. Sessions examined how data in ELNs, LIMS, and other sources can be contextualized and put to work, and which technologies and practices companies are deploying to shorten cycle times so patients can access new therapies sooner.
Why tech transfer
Reducing drug development cycle times is a priority in the executive suites of most pharma and biotech companies, and tech transfer offers one of the most immediate opportunities. Tech transfer has traditionally been a document-based process. Digitalization presents an opportunity to reduce its timeline from 18 to 24 months to 3 to 6 months.
With 70 to 80 percent of manufacturing data unstructured, teams spend significant time searching for information. AI can help, and it depends on integrated knowledge to build process models supported by high-quality empirical data.
